Throwback Thursday: Cameo Bits and Bobs

It’s Throwback Thursday!  Wheeeeee!  This is really more of a compilation post than a throwback, but all of these projects are at least three months old.  Also:  here’s where the “sometimes” comes into my blog name!  Ha.

So, I bought a Silhouette Cameo sometime around Black Friday in 2015…and then I let it sit in the box for the next three or so months because I was “scared” of it.  Story of my life with every new fun crafty machine (took me so long to crack the coverstitch machine out, too).

I finally got over that and am finally to a place where I have a bunch of fun projects to share…from super frivolous to very practical!

My first project was cut from a file I bought from the Silhouette Design Store; a Valentine’s Day card for my hubby in 2016, from red cardstock and red rose patterned paper.  I forgot to ask him to find it for me until last night (oops), so here’s a stock image from the the Design Store instead.

Throwback Thursday: Jasper Surprise!

Welcome to Throwback Thursday! Today we’re talking sweater dress with a surprise:

Pattern:  Paprika Patterns’ Jasper, which I was lucky enough to obtain from a Perfect Pattern Parcel.  (Remember those?  So awesome!  I still regret not buying the boys one…it had the Knight Hoodie in it!  Alas, I did not know I’d have a boy then…)

Completed:  January 2016 (I only remember this because I got it done the day before, maybe day of, my cousin’s baby shower!)

I decided not to wear makeup (OK, fine, I put a little lip gloss on…) for this blog post, but I did brush my hair.  :P  I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis, so I find the prettifying process the biggest hindrance I face (ha!) when it comes to actually getting photos of my makes taken.  I decided to not give a f*ck for today’s post!  :)  Shout out to breastfeeding for the nice skin.  I’m scared to quit you.

Throwback Thursday: Wedding Wrap Bliss

Welcome to a very special Throwback Thursday!

Today we are celebrating the 6 month anniversary of my sis in law, Liz, and her beloved J.

Last Autumn they were married before their closest loved ones in an idyllic outdoor ceremony, followed by a lively and lovely winery reception the next day.

Big thanks to Dahli of Dahli.Durley Photography for permission to use her beautiful images of the wedding day.  All photos except those with an asterisk (*) are Dahli’s talented handiwork.

Throwback Thursday: The McCall’s Cardis

Heeeey!  Welcome back for the second edition of Throwback Thursday, in which I share things I’ve made years ago and maybe don’t remember a lot about!  Here’s to brevity, eh?

Today’s focus…

Pattern:  McCall’s 6844:  View C
Completion Date:  Unsure; photographed November 2014

I’m pretty sure everyone and their mom made this cardigan.  It’s cute as hell, so of course I naturally had to have one, too.  Or, as it turns out,  two.

Throwback Thursday: Vogue Tops

Before I begin, I’m just a wee bit excited to share that I was featured as the “Member in Focus” on Pattern Review’s blog yesterday; such a great honor!  I love the PR community and really treasure it as my online sewing home.

Also, this happens to be my 200th blog post!  Wheee!

I’ve recently been culling my photo collection, mostly brought on by the fact that I seem to take 500+ every month now that I am a Mamarazzi (get it?  Paparazzi?) and in doing so, found a ton of past project photos that just never made it to the blog!

I may not be able to share a lot about pattern or fit with some of them, but thought it would be fun to share regardless.   First up:

Pattern:  Vogue 8962
Completed:  Not sure exactly, but it was photographed November 2014.

So, this pattern is OOP now, and McCall’s JUST finished up an OOP sale.  At the end of this post, you might be thinking:  “Shit, I really like this, but I’m not paying $25 for this pattern.  Why are you doing this to me?!”  Well, I guess you’re gonna have to keep thinking that, ’cause I swore up and down that it was re-released as a See & Sew (Butterick), but cannot find it for the life of me.  Which likely means it does not exist…sorrrrry.
