Me-Made-May ’13, Week 3 Recap

Well, I’ve made it through 3 weeks (well, 2.5…) of my pledge to wear something handmade every weekday of May, for a total of 23 days.  I’ve completed 13 of those 23 days so far.

Apparently the theme for this week was blue:

I made this dress last Spring (2012) for a wedding I attended with Mr. 5 (the first wedding we’d been to that was for one of his friends instead of mine).  I found this neat print at JoAnn of all  places – it’s an April Johnston for Project Runway stretch cotton.

Me Made: Sewaholic Renfrew top
Cami:  Merona
Shorts:   ANA
Sandals (not shown):  Keen

We were on a very special mission when this photo was taken…on our drive down to North Carolina to witness the beginning of C and her fiance’s life as husband and wife!  This is some random Chicagoland interstate oasis.  Not Belvidere or Elgin; I believe it was the Hinsdale Oasis.  Not that you would be able to tell the difference between any of them in a photo.  ;)

#mmm13 Day 13: May 17th

Me Made:  Butterick 5882 dress (Full run-down to be blogged soon!)
Shawl:  Hand knit Rona Lace Shawl in Jade Sapphire Lacey Lamb (yes, I used the leftovers from this ball of yarn to make the cami I wore on the 13th!)
Shoes:  9 and Co. peeptoe flats of pain.

This is what I wore for C and S’s beautiful wedding day.  The whole event took place on a picturesque farm in the North Carolina countryside.  More on the festitivies, and on this dress, later this week!  :)

And…that’s all she wrote.

    1. How selfless of you to mostly make for others! I am admittedly quite the selfish seamstress, so I admire those who are able to channel their powers of sewing to their loved ones.

  1. Your Butterfly cami is beautiful! How talented you are :)

On your drive back home from NC, are you going through central VA by any chance?

    1. That’s very sweet of you. We went through a few states on our way back (Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois), but not Virginia. The wedding was just over the Tennessee border, in western NC.
